"kiss my ass."

Very clever. Glenn says we should consider using argumentatively valid
constructs, not name-calling fallacies, and this is your response.

"yes, we should all conduct ourselves like white upper class males and only
use the language used for centuries to exclude womyn and persons of color
for centuries. I applaud your elitist sentiments."

Straw person. This is not Glenn's argument. You do not show why or how a more
polite discourse is connected to this agenda in any way. To say that women
and people of color are empowered by the sort of rhetoric you seem to be
championing here is a profound insult to them. In fact, substantial evidence
exists to show that the use of profanity in discourse is directly connected
to the expression of male power. Rodger Biles was showing me some very
interesting material on this last year at Emporia.

"neither is a corncob up one's ass when speaking or writing or thinking."

If you want people to consider your ideas more seriously, you might want to
reconsider your approach. But then, you may do as you please. People are
making their own decisions about what you say and how you say it.

"it seems absurd that those advancing value resolution do not actually want
to see that type of topic wording win. "

Exactly my point! Perhaps in an imagined world, as David Klein Topic
Committee Chair, you would only put on topics that you thought were fabulous,
thus excluding anyone who doesn't agree with you. In the real world, where
Tuna is chair of the committee, I have tried to tolerate and understand
differences of opinion and draw up a list of topics which reflects our broad
community. As an argument and debate professional I have a strong opinion
that learning to tolerate and UNDERSTAND those who disagree with me is very
important. I am not afraid of diversity of opinion. It's my profession.
