Invitation to Mentoring Program

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM:

*The purpose of this program is to promote the mentoring
and professional development of young scholars in our midst.

*This program will match mentors with one or more young scholars
and supply a list of suggested mentoring activities.

*The program will also serve as a clearing house for collecting
and disseminating ideas regarding the promotion of scholarly
development and the mentoring process.

*While CEDA is sponsoring this program, it is not limited to
CEDA participants.  I encourage everyone in the forensics community
to participate.

*At the end of the year, I will collect and disseminate the best
suggestions contributed by our participants in the form of documents
supplying tips for research success.

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE/INITIAL MATCHING PROCESS:

I will ask that all participants fill out a form describing her
or his research and current situation and then attempt to match
individuals with common interests.  After matching them, I will
send a copy of the other's form to each individual as well as a
list of suggested mentoring activities.  While the matching process
will be an ongoing function of this program, if you are interested,
I ask that you contact me by August 15, 1996.
