Pollution prevention
It might be worth investigating further. Dunno. I have a dissertation to
write.
Parting shot: check out the latest issue of the Brown Journal of World
Affairs for a symposium on Sustainable Development in which several of
the contributing authors, including Gro Harlem Bruntland, agree that one
of the reasons the push for "sustainability" has gone nowhere for the
last ten years is that no one can agree what "sustainability" means, and
another reason is that the term was drawn too broadly -- seeking to
incorporate economic, social, and pretty much all other manner of
problems into the ambit of environment policymaking. Not to beat a dead
horse or anything, but it doesn't look like a promising topic wording
choice.
