Re: AddressRe: Power and Coaching & Whining.

Some good points, to be sure; however, I think that there is accountability
without the intense question and answer period. When I sign the ballot,
knowing that you, your partner and your coach will read it, that's
accountability. It may not be immediate, but it is still something to think
about. If you don't understand my ballot -- or simply disagree -- then come up
to me after the ballots are handed out, or call me, or write me, or e-mail me,
or ask me at the next tournament. This would seem more constructive to me than
a shouting match between between unequals -- and I say unequals becuause I have
the power of the ballot and you are forced to "accept" my decision, because
right or wrong it still goes down in the record books as a win or loss. Of cour
se this assumes that judges/critics take the time to write a clear ballot. If
I read one more "oral critique given" or "one-liner" I think I'll just save the
confrontation and kill the responsible party. :-)
