Essential Information for Everyone .... for FREE

Our listserv is often full of requests which people could easily answer on
their own. Many of them are answered on DEBATE CENTRAL.

Do you need someone's email address? DC has a list of all the email
addresses on CEDA-L, in LIBRARY-DIRECTORY-CEDA, as well as a list of CEDA
mail addresses.

Do you need to know what cases people are running? DC has a list of the
latest cases, including USC, Jewell, etc. in LIBRARY-TOPIC FOCUS-CEDA.

Do you need to find an invitation to a tournament or the phone number of
the director of a tournament? Most of the invitations are on DC, including
the entire CEDA tournament list (which has phone numbers), and is in
LIBRARY-TOURNAMENT-CEDA.

Do you need to know the results of a tournament recently held? Find most of
them in LIBRARY-TOURNEYS & RESULTS-CEDA.

Do you need an application to attend the NATIONAL DEBATE INSTITUTE this
summer, and get the nation's biggest kick ass evidence set for the upcoming
CEDA topic? Yep, get it in DC, as well as see revealing photos of the last
two years, in ACADEMY-NDI. We also list other institutes because they are
run by cool people.

Do you need a copy of the CEDA Constitution so that you can find out what
the regulations are and how you might want to change it? Try DC at
OFFICE-CEDA.

Do you need tab room software for an IE or debate tournament you are
hosting? Never have to do manual cum sheets again, download software at
EMPORIUM-SOFTWARE.

Do you fear going out into the real world, and so are interested in a
debate graduate assistantship? We got lots of them on DC, go to
ACADEMY-GRADUATE.

Have you screwed up your current job as a coach (perhaps they just don't
understand you) and you need a new one? Coaching jobs are listed on DC, go
to ACADEMY-COACH.

Finally, do you need to find out about the INDIANA CANNIBAL? If so, check
out this and other strange stories in LIBRARY-LIGHT SIDE.

How can you get to DEBATE CENTRAL?

If you know anything about computers or the internet, the http address
below should suffice. However, IF YOU KNOW NOTHING and if someone recently
installed NETSCAPE ON YOUR COMPUTER AT SCHOOL or you can get access to one,
try this.

Start NETSCAPE.
Pull down the FILE MENU until you get "OPEN LOCATION"
Type in: http://beluga.uvm.edu/debatecentral/dc.html

It will take you there. When you see the cyclopean pyramid you will know
you have arrived. Go to the "Bookmark" pull down menu on Netscape and
select "Add Bookmark." Then, whenever you want to go to DC you can just go
to the Bookmark menu and select it from a list. Meanwhile, back at the
pyramid ... Click on the Enter sign and you are in ... the LOBBY that is.
Wander from there.

DC is brought to you by the Lawrence Debate Union at the University of
Vermont, people who want you to get info and want to declutter our
listserv.
