Reasons I would choose CEDA or NDT

Good post, Tom! Having been in favor of merger for some time now, I
applaud your call to reconsider this issue. The questions now seem to
focus on:

1. What are the objections to merger? Help us out there. Many people
virtually spit at me when I mention this notion. Can the
    objections be clearly articulated?

2. What is the best process to get the ball rolling? Can committees
be appointed in each organization? Will each organization toerate
    such committees?

3. How can each organization contribute to the merger? What must each
give up? Can this be done in a way that avoids "organizational
    nationalism?"

4. Can merger profit from the maintenance of regional diversity via
umbrella-like inclusion of regional organizations, along the lines
of the conference concept proposed by Sternhagen of Concordia?

This discussion could be very influential on the future of
intercollegiate debate as we move into the 21st Century.
