Since I'm sitting here contemplating whether I really want to do any work or whether I
should just go home and eat instead, I'll add my two-cents worth.
I think that I'm torn. On the one hand I like the idea of judges revealing in the round,
basically because I'm impatient and can't stand not knowing how I'm doing in a
tournament. Having admitted this, I have generally found that in the tournaments where
the judges have revealed, I am more likely to remain focused on certain rounds that I've
lost instead of concentrating on the round at hand. Also, if on the first day I lose all three
rounds I tend to be less optimistic going into the second day, the frustration level is higher
and I'm usually much less enjoyable to have around. If, on the other hand I end the first
day by winning the first three rounds than I am more likely to try and coast through the
rest of the tournament. Sometimes this takes the pressure off and is therefore a good
thing...but other times the pressure should have remained high because it would have
forced me to concentrate harder and better prepared me to think on my feet. So I really
have no concrete answer to give except that I've decided to head home for a snack.
Until next time,
Kristina from Allegheny
P.S. I'm a little confused...just who is love child?
