Strickland about Mancuso 2

First, a caveat:
I have nothing but respect for Glen and consider him a mentor and
long time supporter and freind. I certainly do not consider this a
flame, rather, I consider it an honest disagreement.

Glen seems to be saying that this is the wrong forum and that I should check
out the truth in private first.

I respectfully disagree, if I were to follow such a path it would do nothing
to alleviate rumors or bring other peoples feelings out of the dark. As I
mentioned to Doyle when we were discussing judging philosophies (a good
discussion) the one thing that can destroy the merger is conspiracies of
silence. It is imperative to discuss feelings of alienation or check
untrue rumors in as public a forum as is possible. Our refusal to address
such issues tends to fester and create real retribution in explosive
moments. I would much rather take the brunt of peoples condemnation
of my poor judgement and not have a judge, competitor, or coach angry with
  CEDA or NDT in private.
It is true that several people witnessed an occurance and felt bad about it.
If it was a misunderstanding we should discuss that together. If it was
the truth than we should discuss hard feelings between communities and work
it out in the one place where we all can discuss our feelings. It is o.k.
if I am in the minority on this one. I certainly am not tyrying to start
any kind of a witch hunt afterMichigan (in fact I have ranked them #1 on my
top ten ballot all year). And if I am totally wrong feel free to blame half
of it on Bear :). Josh
