Unity and Hypocrisy
Now for something serious....
I just wanted to take a moment to respond to some of the indictments I
hear being launched against Weber for choosing to not attend the District
IX NDT-Qualifying Tournament. The jist of what I'm hearing is that I'm a
hypocrite for preaching CEDA-NDT unity and not acting on my rhetoric by
going to Districts.
Whatever. Do what you want with your program and let us decide our
own direction. We considered NDT, but decided it was too much of a
drain on what's left of our budget and our energies. Trying to do NDT and
CEDA Nats in the same week sounds like a recipe for an
exhaustion-tinged disaster.
Good luck to those of you attempting to qualify for NDT. Maybe we'll see
you next year, because, by Madsen's explanation of NDT's
grandfathered eligibility clause, several Weber debaters have new
leases on their debate lives (or lack thereof...)
