run librals run, an answer.
This is in response to TD Barnes's post about Buchanon winning the New Hampshire
primary. I would quote it, but my software doesn't allow this and I don't feel
like typing it all back in. If you are not interested, feel free to ignore it.
I am a conservative person; I've lived in Texas all my life. Pat Buchanon does
get accused of lots of things, like being a racist. While he may not be, he is
certainly an isolationist and perhaps even a xenophobe. I cannot share Mr.
Barnes' elation with the results of the New Hampshire primary, since I part
company with Buchanon in several (many) places. I suppose I could elaborate but
I don't want to go too far here for fear of some kind of backlash on the L for
this "not-exactly-debate" discussion.
I too have had laughs about the conservative stickers on my tubs. And just so
you know, when I say I'm conservative, I mean it. Texas style.
I think Mr. Barnes, and Mr. Buchanon as well, will find that as many
conservatives will run from Buchanon as will liberals. I consider myself a
Republican, but I would honestly rather vote Clinton (this is a BIG thing for me
to say, ask anybody on my squad) than Buchanon. I guess, actually, that I'll
vote libertarian over Clinton, but I think that gets the point accross - Pat
Buchanon does not speak for me, and not for many conservatives. Some of us are
running too.
Incidentally, I'm always affraid of someone telling me I need to "get back on
track". It really sounds like the religous right trying to force its way into my
life, uninvited.
