Subject: Hurricane Debates
Friends and Colleagues,
You are cordially invited to join us in (relatively) warm South
Florida on March 1-3 for the Hurricane Debates. We will have six
prelims with appropriate elims in Open and Junior CEDA debate.
I attempted to post weather reports last week, but my on-line
incompetence prevented me. As much of the country experienced sub-
zero temperatures, snow, ice and other nasty stuff, it was beautiful
here: highs at 82, lows at 70, sunny and tasty. Today, the cold
front got here. Highs today will be in the 60's, but back to the
70's and 80's by mid week. The sun is out and the sky blue. It's
never a sure thing, but sunny and warm is a real good bet for March.
If you are even thinking about attending the tournament, PLEASE
PLEASE PLEASE make HOTEL RESERVATIONS NOW. You can always cancel,
but rooms at any rate are extremely hard to get in March, and we
have a very good rate ($50 per room per night). Our ability to hold
elims in the hotel will depend on the number of room reservations by
this week. Call the PARK PLAZA at 1-800-437-7276 (or 305-825-1000)
and ask for the Hurricane Debate rate. Our contact is Michelle
Saloman. RESERVE NOW.
If you need more information, contact me:

305-284-3648 (fax)
I will be at Cornell this weekend. We look forward to having
you visit us in Coral Gables! Sincerely,
David Steinberg
