Speaker and Gavel Call for papers

The editorial policy of Speaker and Gavel, the official journal
of Delta Sigma Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha, is to publish refereed articles
dealing with theory, practice, or criticism of public argument and
decision making. The theme of Volume 32 (1995-96) will be "Feminism and
Argumentation." Articles centered on this theme may reflect contemporary
rhetorical criticism, issues and controversies in academic forensics and
debate, or decision making. We welcome submissions from undergraduates
and graduate students as well as DSR-TKA alumni and faculty.
Authors should submit three copies of their manuscript prepared
according to the latest edition of MLA or APA guidelines. Use minimal
footnotes only for exposition or explanation, NOT AS BIBLIOGRAPHIC
CITATIONS. Include a cover letter identifying author(s) and

affiliation. Remove all references in the manuscript to author and
affiliation to facilitate the blind review. All accepted articles must
be submitted in final form on a 3 1/2 inch disk for DOS wordprocessor
(Word Perfect is preferred).
Deadline for submitting articles for consideration in Volume 32,
"Feminism and Argumentation," is July 15, 1995. Articles not on this
theme are also encouraged. They may be included in Volume 32 depending
on space, or they may be published in Volume 33. Deadline for articles
for Volume 33 will be April 30, 1996.
Three copies of articles should be submitted to:

Robert E. Frank, Editor of Speaker and Gavel
		Department of Communication
		202 Des Places Communication Center
		Duquesne University
		Pittsburgh, PA 15282-1201

Questions should be directed to the Editor at the above address, by
telephone (412-396-5043) or by e-mail ( FRANKR@DUQ3.CC.DUQ.EDU ).

Please feel free to pass this call along to any group interested in
argumentation and debate. Thanks, Bob Frank
