My God, what have we done?
I would like to say that the message from my colleague saying that women are
not equal to men was actually written in jest by me. I was merely trying to
scare John, and he accidentally sent the message trying to cancel it.
I have to admit that I did not follow the thread of women (or womyn) in debate
very carefully, and that I have probably inadvertently tremendously offended a
great many people. For this I sincerely apologize.
I realize that the "joke" isn't funny when taken at face value, but please
understand that the "joke" was not in the contents of the message, but in the
implied threat of sending it, precisely because of the negative reaction it
would (and probably will anyway) elicit.
Once again I would like to apologize, and say that no members of our team
view females to be inferior to males. We have, in fact, racked up quite an
impressive number of losses to female debaters.
Sorry to have cluttered the l with our grevious mistake.
