Possible New Trophy Supplier for Nationals
Overview -- no plastic on anything.....all real engraving.....
Speaker awards -- 1-10 clocks with a piano finish, black with express
engraving on gold plate. 11-20 oak box with oak pen set inside -- both
oak box and the oak pens are engraved. The shop was pushing rosewood but
my environmental conscious grabbed me and shook me real hard and said no.
Team awards: all team awards would be real metal and real wood -- walnut
-- no plastic -- 1st place would be a giant award topped with a gold or
bronze loving cup and would be about as tall as Lisa Heller. Second place
would be smaller. Semis large loving cups on a normal base. Quarters
medium loving cup on a normal base. Octos smaller loving cups on a normal
base. Doubles, triples and part quads would be gold on black double
plated plaques with express engraving. Cannot find a good subsitute for
plaques that keeps us within our budget. But will keep looking.
Request: Input for wording on partial quads -- these have been called
5-3's, partial quads and quads -- all seem UNSATISFACTORY TO ME....PLEASE
MAKE SUGGESTIONS....
Sweeps: National sweeps will match 1,2 in teams;3-5 will be like
semis,6-7 like quarters, 8-10 like octos; regionals will be plaques
All-American and Academic plaques --
I have put a lot of money into speaks with this plan -- like 1-10 would be
over 700....
Give me some feedback -- I have no psychological investment in these
choices -- except I think they need to be classy and to have some matching
styles.....although speaks really are quite different.....
I also will need to get a bid back from these people and see what the
Council thinks....We have spent between 7000-8000 in recent years on
trophies.
