Tournament Coordination

I think informal coordination via Tuna is more likely to succeed than is
the creation of a subcommittee that we all vote up or down on.  We can
give our preferences to Tuna, and if the community wants a change we can
talk about it and try to convince the relevant host(s) to change dates.
Some will be able to, some won't, some will want to change, some won't.

We liked our weekend this year since the primary conflict was with South
Carolina on the other side of the world.  We were a week before MTSU,
Kings, Wheaton, and the Utah Scrimmage.  We were two weeks before Kentucky
and other tournaments.  (I didn't try to exhaustively list tournaments, so
forgive me if I left out a particular event)  The weather was pretty good 
for the state of Iowa between the months of September and March (and the
weather was better than half of the days at the recent Dixie Classic -- no
more whining about UNI weather, Ross).

We can change to lots of other weekends, but do people really want to go
to Northern Iowa after September?  We actually have more hotel flexibility
for 1997 (the Holiday Inn in Waterloo is unavailable on the above weekend,
so we'll have to use an alternative facility if we stay with the above 
dates), but have tentatively reserved the hotel for our usual weekend in
1998.
