Re: out of context - Mazarr?
In would offer a real example for your consideration.
The Michael Mazarr, SURVIVAL, Autumn, 1995 article "Virtual nuclear
arsenals" discusses this concept (dis-assembly of nuclear weapons but still
keeping them around) and argues its merits (aff evidence?) and its
shortcomings (neg evidence?) and then he concludes on p. 24:
"This analysis has suggested that virtual nuclear arsenals offer one
possible avenue of capturing many benefits of disarmament with few of its
risks. But the proposal needs further study before any government could
adopt it as policy. Virtual arsenals could represent a dramatic opportunity
or a perilous delusion; it is time for governments and academic specialists
concerned with arms control and disarmament to find out."
What context does this put on the article?
Can the aff read the stuff suggesting it might be a good idea?
Can the neg read the stuff suggesting it might be a bad idea?
Just curious.
