Pointer and Slusher's reply

Okay...
There are several points that need to be addressed before individual responses
are made to each of the parties involved.
First is the sacred nature of the CEDA-L;
        I guess we have failed to see why the CEDA-L has been declared some
kind of safe earea.  Let's remember that this is the same forum that Bryant
refered to Korcok as a Necrophiliac.  It is the same forum where Lemoine
was compared to the banjo player from Deliverence.  Various posts oozing
with rudeness have flowed from Roskoski's account.  It was a new understanding
that any posts of this nature were intended to be prefaced with various
subject line symbols meant to be "disclaimers".  Maybe we have decided that
this CEDA-L nonsense needed to be satired.
        Also, we fail to see why people get especially offended by CEDA-L
posts and not offended by what is said to them or about them at tournaments
or at parties.  Greg, I am very affended by the names you call me.  We are
also offended by things that have been said by you to our other squad members.
Things things have been handled back-channel by you, yes......but why does
it have to be.  Your comments on your own top ten list last night were not
offensive to us in any way.  We thought it was FUNNY.  We especially liked
the Devon comment to Pointer.  Would you have felt the need to make a public
apology if this had not been done on the CEDA-L?

        Before we go any further....a couple of apologies.  First, these
comments were our own and had absolutely NOTHING to do with any member of
our squad.....no one but us should suffer repercussions if those are how
you feel this should be handled.  Secondly, this post was not meant to
offend women in any way.  We didn't origionate the "sexist" comments made
in the list.  Elizabeth was in no way intended to be targeted by our comments
To her, we definately apologize.  We really don't know what is sexist about
what we said....maybe it could be clarified so we can respond appropriately..
but sure, we do still apologize to Biza for her inclusion in the post.  That
was probably unwarrented, and poor judgement.  So sorry to you.

Now, to each of the others invovled;
First to Greg.  We will handle our situation with you back-channel.  Sorry
to offend you, but like was said above, we have not perceived you to be
someone who is immune to criticizing or calling others names.  Some things
we have seen you do were regarded by us as offensive...however funny they
were to us.  I mean, like we said....your top ten list to us was pretty
damned funny.  Don't worry about Devon's shoulders....they have healed up
by now.
To Lemoine.  Again this will be taken care of back-channel. We haven't
percieved you to be terribly offended...we wouldn't have expected that from
you.  Sorry we involved someone who is personally close to you...and like
we said above, involving Biza was uncool to you and her....so we apologize
here and we will back-channel.
To everyone else.  We are unsure why others feel the need to involve
themselves in this issue, but that seems to usually happen in this forum.
No offense was intended, and if it was it was only intended to the parties
involved.  The delete key can always be utilized.  We don't really aim to
excuse our comments on anything.  Maybe to thoses that find our comments
highly offensive and malicious should look at how they act and interact with
others in the community in private circles(whether it be at parties, or at
tournament sites, or in their own homes) Maybe the parties involved should
do that too.  Again, we guess the CEDA-L is a sacred place where everyone
tries not to offend.  That's fair enough, we apologize.  This issue can end
now for the most part.  If you have never made a rude comment to anyone or
about anyone on the circuit...then feel free to judge us and drop us, but
we doubt anyone is innocent of this type of behavior...at least we have
never met anyone who was.
Again, we speak for no one but ourselves.  This issue is between us and
whoever else feels some need to be involved.  We have never attempted to echo
the feelings of anyone on our squad or it's staff or on any other squad.
It was a joke....it was rude, but not intended to alienate or criticize.
Sorry to everyone who needs to be apologized to, but please remeber that a
day doesn't go by on this list-serv where someone isn't being offensive
to someone else.
If you want to post that we were wrong or offensive....you would be better
served by mailing us at this address or at spointer@cctr.umkc.edu
If you want to make your own offensive jokes or lists about us, by all means
post them on the list-serv....we think they're funny.
