Re: Speed and flowing and Mike Korcok

That's not QUITE true - Their have been several occasions that I have
been judged by folks that didn't flow as a matter of choice and not
ability.

You may recall that Darren Hicks from Denver has judged without a flow,
his explanation being that he was looking to prerserve the oral nature of
the debate round without polluting it with written influence. (At least
that is what I recall). I also had the experienc in the last round of the
KSt Junior RR being judged by Deforeest and Horn - also not flowing. In
that case I didn't use my flow for the 2AR and I found the experience to
be valuable. These are all smart folks with good memories. Oftentimes I
find myself judging high school debate rounds here in Minnesota with the
thought that I could easily render a fair decision without keeping a
written record.

Oh yeah, and another example. At the KST tourney last year I flowed for
Mike in an outround. In this case Mike didn;t even ask to see my flow
during or after the round, made his decision and it was a 3-0, with all
critics sharing common ground in their RFD's.

Anyhow, if you saw Mike's flow you'd realize you much is memory and how
little is written down. Peace.

Shut up Bear. If you're kidding, ha ha. If not, just stop making an ass
of yourself.
