Publishing in PKD's The Forensic
Just a reminder to potential authors that the due date for articles book
reviews editorial opinions and student/coaches tips on forensics are due
to Steve Hunt Dec l5, l994.
The Forensic publishes articles, well thought out opinion statements, and
reviews in the areas of argumentation, debate, forensics, individual
speaking, oral interpretation, rhetoric and dialectic, informal logic,
and persuasion.
The editor would especially like to encourage articles and opinions about
l) Outcomes assessment in forensics
2) Computer program usage in managing forensics tournaments in debate
and/or individual events
3) The training teaching load and evaluation of forensics directors
4) The potential for reunification of the forensics community between NDT
CEDA NEDA Parliamentary NIET NFA etc. etc.
5) Use of electronic systems in research pros and cons good aspects how
to's and potential problems and solutions of electronic research and of
utilizing electronically obtained evidence
6) Reviews of electronic list serve debate and individual events systems
7) Speakers bureau programs public forums public debates high school
forensics education programs facilitated by colleges and universities
8) Endowment campaigns corporate sponsorships for forensics
9) Graduate education in forensics mentors directing forensics classes
training in argumentation how and where DOF's can become able to coach
NDT policy CEDA values Parliamentary debate Public Speaking events and
Oral Interpretation
Should forensics educators have had to have been forensics participants?
Should forensics educators have degress in speech communication in
rhetoric and public address in argumentation theory?
Should forensics educators have had to have taken a course in directing
forensics?
l0) How does modern argumentation theory get into debate: Toulmin,
Perelman, Walton, informal logics, etc.
Articles and reviews should be in MLA 3 or APA 3
Articles should be sent on a disk preferrably utilizing Microsoft Word
Macintosh or DOS but Word Perfect ok too. There should also be 3 good
hard copies to be sent to associate editors for blind review.
