Queens tourney
Queens Colege Forensics Soceity invites you to attend the Goodman, Cheney,
Schwerner Tournament on Saturday January 28th and Sunday January 29th. The
tournament is named for three young men including Andrew Goodman (a Queens
college studnt) killed in Philadephia, Mississippi by the Neshoba county
sheriff and members of the KKK. We will offer three divisions of debate
(rookie, novice and open) and six IE events (Imp, ADS, RC, Duo, Improv Pairs
and Prose) for those interested in cross-over. The tournament hotel is the
Sheraton LaGuardia, approx 2 1/4 miles from Queens College. Hotels are
expensive in the Big Apple but the Sheraton is holding rooms at a rate of
$99 for 2 double beds (when booking rooms mention the Queens College

Time Limits:
CEDA Open/Novice 8-3-5 (8 minutes prep.)
Rookie 6-2-4 (8 minutes prep.)
IE Events 10 min. max; Imp-7 minutes max.
A "rookie" competitor is any individual with no prior experience in
organized public speaking in high school or college.
Fees:
CEDA IE
$25 per rookie team $5 per slot
$35 per open/novice team $10 per uncovered slot
$50 per uncovered team $7 per slot add-on penalty for drops
$75 per team add-on penalty for
drops
