What to do about CEDA-L over the winter break...

Hi,

I've been asked to pass on information about what people should do to keep
CEDA-L from overwhelming them over winter break. I imagine that the number
of postings to the list will decline dramatically as students head home for
the break, but there is still the potential of a large number of postings
building up given the number of people who will still have access to their
accounts.

The best solution is to change your mail setting to "postpone" before
leaving. This will stop the listserv from sending any messages to your
account until you reactivate it by again changing your mail setting to one
of the other three options (Ack, NoAck, or Digest). To do this, simply
send an email message to listserv@cornell.edu where the only text is:

        set CEDA-L mail postpone

Upon returning, send the same message to listserv@cornell.edu changing
"postpone" to the appropriate alternative.

For people who will have access to email through other accounts over the
winter break it is possible for me to set up an "alias" file so that your
mail is sent to an alias account. If anyone is interested in this option
send me a message, and I will look into it.

I would also like to remind people to send their directory information to
Alex Bernardin so that he can finish setting up the directory before he
leaves for break.

Chat,

--Jamey
