Re: Vermont's empty CP
I have said some really stupid and what some might find offensive stuff
overthe ether of CEDA-L, but I have never had my ass handed to me in such
a rude and viscious way as Josue's was to him by Marc. As his teammate I
am his friend, and co-worker and any insult to him, I feel as well. But I
feel the insult goes much farther than just to Josue and to Vermont, but
to us all as a community, and your tone rips at the foundation of trust
that we have tried to establish here in Listserv land.
Your tone, which certainly may be appropriate in front of some judges
in a debate but not here. I believe that the purpose here is to present
ideas for discussion, being assertive in both presenting and refuting
arguements put forward by the group. I do not beleive that this is the
place to achieve some sort of clout, or just to take your frustration on
someone else at their expense. It is selfish and immoral and weak.
Whether or not I agree with either side is not really an issue for me,
so much as I feel that the trust here has been violated, and that the list
of people who do not post stuff here for fear of retribution will grow and
this listserv will ultimately die for lack of anyone willing to take the
abuse that I feel was so unjustly done to Josue.
