Sept l Deadline approaches

Dear CEDA members:

Sept l approaches us rapidly. This means:

#l Your CEDA membership dues should be paid to Gary Larson for l995-96. 
You owe $40 for your school for voting privileges, newsletters, the 
opportunity to attend CEDA nationals, counting in CEDA sweepstakes, 
eligibility for your students for All American and Scholastic Debater 
awards, CEDA sanctioning for your CEDA tournaments, etc. etc.

#2 Your vote for the Fall semester CEDA topic is due NOW.

#3 If you are hosting a CEDA tournament in l995-96, you should get it on 
the official CEDA calendar (again to Gary Larson Wheaton College) before 
Sept l so it can count for CEDA pts.

CEDA regional reps will be anxious that their regions schools have paid 
dues and are on the CEDA calendar. Redistricting will be taking place in 
CEDA this year as our current regions are a bit out of whack with some 
regions with less than l0 members and others with almost 50. 

A list of CEDA committees, their charges (mandates), and members will be 
coming with the Sept l mailing. A complete list should be done before Oct 
mailing.

Pam Stepp is looking for a school to host CEDA nationals late March lst 
of April l997 in the East or possibly Midwest. The tournament will have 
been twice in a row on the West coast due to no potential host midWest.

Pam has the CEDA programs for SCA schedule now if you need to ck your 
panel or presentation. Remember Friday BEFORE SCA is forensics meeting 
day with AFA, CEDA, PKD, etc. have sessions and all cosponsoring a 
reception Friday so that forensics folks can avoid (partially only) 
overlap of forensics and regular SCA meetings. That's Friday Nov l7 for 
officers of CEDA , AFA, PKD, SCA Forensics division etc. NOW IS A GOOD 
TIME TO GET YOUR AIRLINE RESERVATIONS IF NOT A WEEK AGO. SOME GOOD 
AIRFARES FOR FALL REMAIN.
