Kelly Ross and MORE whining.

Uh, we had a pretty sweet hit against your case, bro....If I recall, it
was pretty much STRAIGHT case in the 1NC. I never debated it...but we
were gonna link turn the shit out of your advantage. We test ran it against
your junior team. Lots of great solvency turns too...man, were you guys
on the wrong side of the debate!
In any case.....i think you're wrong. The 2NR has to justify going for
Nato against racism. Refer to the CEDA nationals final round. If I recall
(granted I was drinking an St. Ides) both of the final rebuttals involved
a rather interesting discussion of the impact comparison. It was a process
disad against a racism advantage. MSU wasn't stupid...they knew what the
2AR was gonna say and tried to answer that. 3 outta 9 thought they were right.
Maybe they were wrong. Just goes to show they coulda won that debate with
any one of those 3 critics in prelims. besides, my gut tells me that most
teams will not go for clinton against racism. Maybe some will, but I doubt
you will have much trouble justifying your decission if the 2NR doesn't
discuss how it relates to racism. Arguments exist on many different levels.
Weighing one type against the other can be difficult. It might even make
you uncomfortable....or in the the words of a former lab leader Paul Derby,
"it's the kind of thing that makes judge's butts tingle". I bet one side
will provide enough rationale for you to make a cogent decission.
All you've really done is provide a reason why year long topics are good for
development of arguments. Like I've said before, the ground is awesome. if
you don't explore it your gonna lose on the negative some....too bad. Happens
on every topic. I bet you'll never not have "shit to say"....I think everyone
agrees negative ground exists....they just don't like it...not that there's
anything wrong with that! I respect your position...I think we just disagree
about what negative ground is out there and debater's ability to utilize it.

I trust I am not the only one that feels this way-
