Martin Che Harris/Re: Civil Rights Topic
RE: Look Martin if I recall I judged you in a semifinal round of junior
division. All that I can recall about that round was Shelby Steele.
However, the fact that I didn't enjoy the shallow analysis of that round
does not mean that it was not a good topic. I heard many excellent
discussions on the topic, and personally I as person of color was further
educated by the topic. I can remember learning a great deal from Emporia's
Womyn of Color case, and even from Daddy Kleins specioal "K" attack on the
backlash arguments with his genocidal language position. All i am saying
is that there are many ways in which to construct the discussion. JUst
because I didn't like your debate round does not mean that I didn't feel
that it was a deep and highly educational topic. You remember all the link
stories, you know that it can be debated in a variety of ways. And though
at times I might take things personally often it has to do with the
language of the round more than the issues. Al
