Re: ABC and Homos
Sorry, my fault for not paying enough attention to the thread!
Now I see your point, and am now at least a bit more skeptical of the
policy. Yet I would still give the network benefit of the doubt -- that
maybe viewers would like the episode but still not like the ads (maybe
they're chiefly hetero who find homo-depictions 'quaint', etc.). We just
don't know the details behind the decision. This is not an advocay of
free-market economy, but rather an abstention from condemning the
network for working within this system (to me, it's like any game -- if
the rules let you do x, then it wouldn't make sense to me to try to tell
one of the players they ought not do x if x will hurt their standing).
