mpd -- an idea

as most of you know, i LOVE judging. i mean i can't get enough.
however, i've been noticing lately that this whole "random" judge/team
assignment thing is not working out for me -- seems i either get the
very novice rounds where they don't know just how cool i am (which by
the way have the distinct advantage of FINISHING earlier, oh AND these
folks are still telling a story in the rebuttal -- thanks to all;) or
the high high rounds where i can't easily decide on reputation (what
would YOU do if the choice was Miami v. Fort Hays;). so instead of
falling down stairs i've thought of a better system of judging for me --
mutual preference debates. at the start of every tournament the judges
get a sheet with all the debate teams participating and they rank them
ABC -- that way, we the judging pool, won't have to subject ourselves to
certain incomprehensible 2ACs, whiny baby attitudes and all the niceties
of *open* debate. we can hand pick the good debates, however we define
good (i personally am going for the short ones;), and *some* of you will
*finally* learn what we think of you. a 25 just can't say it as nice.

becky
"you mean i ONLY get 22 strikes!"
