Barnes, Yarwood and Censorship

I figured this would just go away after yesterday, then I check my mail
today and see the same thing happening again. Titsworth says in his first
sentence that he is troubled about some people defending Barnes and then says we
don't have enough info to make a valid judgement. THEN he goes on to defend
Natalie. HMMMMMM.... Is that a double standard? I'm just curious, b/c thats
what it looks like to me.

I only know what I read on the L. My original post answering Terry west
was that so many people are quick to criticize Barnes and not Yarwood. If we
don't know the facts, why criticize ANYONE??? COME ON. You say don't do it and
then you do it. I call it bias.

I AM NOT DEFENDING BARNES, except to say that I think he was treated
unfairly. And still is.

And to Titsworth now, you say that words do create violence, I have
discussed this with Terry West, my question to you is: does that mean that that
disabling someone's account with 200 e-mail messages is the justified? It is a
little to easy to say, "no, never mind" and not advocate that the response was a
good one.

As far as the mail-bomb issue, I had never heard of it before either, but
it was explained to me and it seemed as though these were real things that could
disable someones account. That sounds like an attempt at censorship, or at least
a retaliation that goes beyond and inteligent discourse. If that is what we're
are about, why not condemn the retaliation (some have and I'm with them)?

It becomes clearer and clearer that the L (or most of it) is biased
against Barnes and will criticize him based on that. That is what I am saying.
If I need the facts to defend Barnes then so does everyone else to defend
Yarwood. I asked for someone to tell me what I didn't know, that would make it
OK to just accept (dogmatically?) that Barnes is ignorant and not worth
defending. I think Carson was right. He pretty much said what I've been saying.
If we don't like Barnes, fine. But don't go off trying to justify how he was
treated. If you don't like him delete what he says.

And if it REALLY troubles you that I am defending Barnes (which isn't
exactly accurate, and how dare I do that anyway) why not tell me so and why. If
you don't want it on the L then backchannel me.

I have finals to study for and a paper to write. I have covered all this ground
before. Nobody has really answered what I've said and I don't feel like
repeating myself anymore.
