It's enlightening to see the same folks who were preaching "big tent
tolerance" and waxing elegantly about past "tender" moments just a few
weeks ago now embrace the ad hom as their intellectual weapon-of-
choice.

Korcok is as wrong as ever when he suggests that debate theory should
not be held hostage to community consensus. We have nothing more than
community consensus to guide us in the absence of philosopher-kings
or a pipeline to objective reality. Debate theories are never
disproven, they are simply discarded as the community decides it is
time to move on. Whole rez did not suddenly become an invalid
argument. Instead, the community simply decided they had taken
enough.
