some thoughts

to several new and old friends: i'm still resting from nationals - get
some lives. mine is a pathetic and pitiful thing, but DAMN, ya'll are
gone gone gone.

my biggest concern about nationals this year was the vast quantity of
mojo the Salukis used to win. i have much respect for Greg, love for
Yuri, and a fond friendship for Glen, don't know Bill too well, but he
seems alright. like the squad as a whole, too.

my concern is primarily for their souls. the basic problem is that the
world equalizes the use of good mojo by visiting upon the user at least
an equal quantity of bad mojo. and the Salukis mojoed like there was no
tomorrow (and there may not be...) the Houston Rockets floor sitting on
the table, would by itself, it seems to me, be the limit that any sane
and responsible debate squad would go to in mojo utilization for
something like a championship. but Glen's deathhead tie blessed by the
the Bourbon street voodoo madam sent the mojometer over the top - why
not just make a deal with Satan for a few speaker points? did the dawgs
stop at the excessive excess? of course not: they excessed the
excessive excess, of course. the wearing of Mark West's 1987 nationals
tie by Shin was the equivalent of daring God AND Chthulu to remove
several of your body organs or face the wrath of YOUR wrath. UNWISE.

the Emperor penguin taught me a valuable lesson, a lesson the dawgs
have, apparently, yet to learn. good luck ...

howdy to the Party: i'll have a sip for ya'll here in sunny Ithaca.

mike
