Baseball

Hi all, I'm in the midst of writing a long nasty paper again, and just
wanted to keep alive the possibility of the recreation topic. I watched
some of Ken Burn's Baseball tonight and became aware again as to the
importance of it and other recreational possibilities (though none as
cool as the national pastime). Baseball encapsulates nearly all of the
great national social debates we've had for over a century, including but
not limited to the role of womyn, african-americans, and other
minorities, McCarthyism, labor disputes, economic decline, and relations
with the world (praise god for the sight of the Olympic Committee). And
hell, if you guys are so concerned about pro wrestling, I'm sure that
could be made topical. For those that hate pro wrestling, think of the
vengeance you could take on teams that are silly enough to run it.
Recreation is serious, y'all, and I think we should debate it.
