What Greg believes in...

Well, you're right on all counts.

Pat and Matt were not made smart by getting two judges--they
were smart before then.

Winning a round doesn't make a team right--it does make them
the winners of the round, though.

Nationals can be a screwjob--the three hundred + other teams
that didn't win it all are all surely able to find one decision
they don't like.

Losing at Nats sucks, but it is a fact of life. I didn't see
the round, but the fact is that Chico won it. And whether
anyone likes it or not, in order to win a debate round a team
must convince the judges. Chico did, you didn't. Bad judges
(I don't know the panel, so I am not assuming the critics were
"bad")? Tough luck, Greg. The bottom line is the same--one of
the two teams there had to win those judges.

You already know that, and as someone who once thought they
should've won a semis round at Nats and didn't, I know that
part of you will always be hacked. I guess my ire was raised
by the tone of your "p.s." which implied that Chico was somehow
unworthy of a place in octos. If you wanna vent on the judges
(which really won't get you anywhere, anyway) go ahead. But
try not to take out your frustrations on a very good team that
was deserving of octofinals--just like you and Brad were.
