Saves over a hundred billion annually.
The economics topic is great, but what exactly does "significant" mean in
terms of the U.S. economy. With a GNP of over 5 trillion dollars, are we
talking trillions, billions, millions.... thousands?

A quick, unrelated note:
Cornell may use some form of OTEC for cooling buildings in the near future
They would use the cold water from Lake Cayuga (located adjacent to
Cornell).
