Ethics issues

The statement was the result of work by several Ethics Committees.  As I 
recall, the possibility of CEDA framing its own statement was formally 
introduced by the '86-'87 committee, and became the major focus of each 
committee for the next several years.  I think the first "final" report 
came out of committee in 1991.  Kris Bartanen (PLU) chaired that 
committee.  Given the legal implications of an ethics code, several 
coaches with earned JDs were on the committee.
