Also the sports topic has some very serious real world ramifications. I 
don't know how often people stop to think about it but sports has a huge 
impact on important political issues like the economy and the president's 
credibility (witness the bashing Clinton took over his minor role in the 
baseball negotiations). In short I think that sports is an innovative 
topic that is completely unlike anything CEDA has ever debated before. 
The government has a role to play in sports. It is debated every day in 
the newspapers and in Congress. To overlook this topic because it seems 
silly would be a terrible mistake.
