Re: Ethical Discussion
Having been at nationals and around many who felt it there mission in lifew
"to spread the news" as the "guardians of debate" I was privy to much of
what was being discussed. The one thing I noticed was that everyone had
different opinions and different reasons for feeling as they did.
Unfortunately, among them seemed to be a general feeling of closed mindedness
and accusations. This is not a way to reach conclusions on any subject, an
open discussion on the listserve would more than likely come to the same
conclusions and then where are we? Right back where we started, with no
solutions and a bunch of fired up people (many probably for the wrong
reasons, be it ethical, political or whatever).
Perhaps the best solution is for the parties involved (including whatever
CEDA Hierarchy feels neglected) to explore how to deal with the situation
instead of the small group of individuals who generally contribute most
of the discussions on the listserve.
