specific modifiers
1) I too believe if we are going to have modifiers in the resolution they
should have a specific purpose. " Significantly" seemed to have no affect
on this semester's debating. It usually doesn't in any topic in which it's
included. As such, I think if we are going to put in specific numbers as
modifiers they should be LITERATURE SPECIFIC ones. Inserting "$15 billion"
into the topic as Tim suggests may be appropriate as long as some REASON
exists for that number choice. If a lot of the articles talk about that as
some important point for budget cuts, etc., then it obviously should be
considered for inclusion. If it is some arbitrary number then it may only
add to confusion, unless people can pinpoint the EXACT amount they
save/cut.
2) In the "promos for your favorite cases which will never be run again"
list, please consider: beach nudity. I thought more of the free spirits in
this organization would be sympathetic to it.
I also submit another category for everyone's consideration: best case
which never got written. My choice: seafood safety (sorry Meg-a-Mav)
