Dear Doug:

I wanted congratulate you on what seemed to be a flawless National Tournament.  The tournament stayed on time and even through the elimination rounds!  I was afraid that a judge would decide to take a long time deliberating as one did last year and make t
he entire tournament run very late.  Obviously, Doug Duke was able to avoid these and all the other problems in dealing with the very large group of often intense coaches and debaters.

I especially appreciated the efficient yet appropriate way you handled the awards ceremony.  I hope that we continue to have the All American and Academic Debater Awards presented in this way.  I know it meant a great deal to my debater to be a recipient 
of the All American Award.  

You and your tournament staff should be proud of your accomplishments.  The tournament should be a model for all future national tournaments.  

Perhaps you will now have some time to rest, get your voice back and soon you will recall what life was like before you became President of CEDA.
