Two of us on the committee mentioned it but there was no discussion.  I 
am guessing that it might come up again if the Latin American topic area 
wins our preliminary voting and if the drug topic in Latin America wins 
your vote.

I can only speculate why we did not discuss it further.  Here are my 
thoughts.  I do not believe we could include it prior to our first 
ballot, because that would violate our topic selection process.  I 
suppose some could argue that we could create a category called the 
winning NDT topic area and include that on our first list.

Others may have been thinking that the NDT topic did so poorly last year 
on the fall ballot, it is not time to try it again.  I am guessing.

Also despite the merger debate on the CEDA-L I sense the majority is 
definitely not in favor of merger or any steps that seem moving that way.

But none of these things were discussed.  I also should mention that 
other suggestions were made from a variety of different sectors of the 
CEDA community that were mentioned once and not taken up again.
