Some information about FAPBED: FAPBED stands for “Fast algorithm for probabilistic bone edge detection.” It is part of a larger project, the main goal of which is ultrasound-CT registration. Algorithms already exist for taking ultrasound images and extracting a probability map of bone surfaces. FAPBED would do the same for CT images. Given these probability maps, the final registration can be done.
