I have
recently defended my thesis and will be joining the
Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute
(ETRI) in Korea. My webpage has moved
here! Priviously, I was a
Ph.D. candidate in
the Department of Computer Science at
the Johns Hopkins University, expecting to
graduate in May 2012. My research advisor here at
Hopkins is Dr. Andreas Terzis and I am a member of
the Hopkins interNetworking Research Group
(HiNRG). I received my Master of Science in
Engineering degree in computer science at the Johns
Hopkins University in December 2009 and for the
2007-2008 academic year, I was awarded the prestigious
Abel Wolman Fellowship from the Whiting School of
Engineering at Johns Hopkins. Also, I served as the
president of the Korean Graduate Students’ Association (KGSA @
JHU) for two years from 2008 to 2010. Prior to
moving to Baltimore for my graduate studies, I
received my Bachelors in Engineering degree from
the Department of Computer Science and
Engineering at Korea University, Seoul, Korea in February
2007. At Korea University I spent two exciting years
as an undergraduate research student at
the Wireless Data Communication Laboratory
(WIDEN) under the supervision
of Dr. Hyogon Kim. From January 2010 to April
2010 I was at
Stanford University as a visiting
researcher working with
Dr. Philip Levis at
the Stanford Information Networking Group
(SING).
My
research interests include medical wireless sensing
applications, low-power embedded network
system/protocol design and the deployment of such
systems to real environments. I am also interested in
wireless network security and issues related to medium
access control in wireless networks. I have externally
reviewed papers for conferences and journals including
ACM SenSys, IEEE/ACM IPSN, IEEE SECON, EWSN, IEEE
MILCOM, IEEE ICNP, IEEE RTSS, BodyNets, IEEE SUTC, ACM
SIGMOBILE Mobile Computing and Communications Review,
KICS/IEEE Journal of Communications and Networks,
Wiley International Journal of Communication Systems
and IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing.
