About Me

I am a sixth-year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science department and a member of the Center for Language and Speech Processing, friend of the Human Language Technology Center of Excellence (HLTCOE), and advised by Sanjeev Khudanpur.

Research Interests

My primary research interest is topic characterization of speech. In particular I am looking at techniques using topic information to improve speech recognition and retrieval of spoken content.

Currently, most of my work is with the Kaldi speech recognition toolkit.

From 2000 to 2003 I worked for the Boston office of idealab!, a dot.com incubator, as a software developer on many early stage company prototypes. This included work on distributed clickstream analysis for what became Compete, Inc., 802.11 location aware services for Newbury Networks, and components of Google's Picasa
