Hullo :) How do you do ?

Nice to know that you like to know nice things about me. Well, to start with, Let me wish you a pleasant, prosperous and wonderful year ahead.

If you are in a hurry to look at my professional Experience, please have a look at my Resume.

Astro Physics

I am currently working in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University. Here I am working on developing and implementing concepts for The Sloan Digital Sky Survey which is building the virtual observatory of the future. This is a very fascinating place to be in. Floating in stars and galaxies. Not to limit it just there, it is a place filled with exuberant and amazingly fabulous people. Who..!, Prof Alex Szalay , Wil O Mullane, Ani Thakar, Tamas Budavari, Tanu Malik and ... . Well, the list is filled with people, who already are the who is who of the field and will be who is who of the field.

Grad Education

I graduated with my Masters degree from the Computer Science Department of the Johns Hopkins University in 2003. Some of the memorable courses I took during my studies here are the Distributed Systems courses by Dr Amir, the Crytography and Security courses by Dr Ateniese and Dr Rubin, the Information Retrieval course by Dr Yarowsky and the advanced Wireless course by Dr Awerbuch.

If you thought Hopkins is good only at medicine, you are in for a shock. Just try to find out the number of Nobel prizes in the Hopkins community and the field of their contribution.

The Computer Science department hosts some of the profs to look out for in the near future. They are some of the best mentors and field experts you can get.

Cricket @ Hopkins

During my graduate studies at Hopkins, I had the priviledge of captaining and coaching the Hopkins Cricket Team. The team was made up of a bunch of students and staff at Hopkins bound by a passion called Cricket. It is one thing that has given it's best to everyone involved with it. One of our undergrads, Permal Trivedi, actually made it to the National Junior team. Meet Vijay Parthasarathy, a man whose presence inspires you to new levels of discipline and awareness. All the people involved in the club are thankful to the tireless and ever giving efforts of this man who has toiled for it's success. Make sure to meet him at least once in your life time.

Siemens

Before my graduate studies at Hopkins, I got the opportunity to work at Bangalore with Siemens, a global Telecommunication leader. This was a place filled with some ever inspiring people. People inspiring on many fronts. Hard work, intelligence, diligence, creativity, enthusiasm, mentoring, what not. This was a place, that reaffirmed self belief and celebrated motivation. My contribution to the organization was recognized by the Star Performer of the Year award in 2000.

The three years I spent there was a dream run. On the sports front, I got to play with Siemens Corporate cricket team. An inspiring team to be in, with awesome players. Some of the top players of the team were the best managers at office. A fact that just vindicated the need for sports in a corporate structure.

Undergrad Education

Before joining Siemens, I completed my undergraduate education i.e.: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from B.M.S. College of Engineering, Bangalore in 1998. BMS has been a very prestigious Engineering College for decades. It was the first private Engineering College opened in India and celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1997. Here I represented the college in Cricket and a few literary activities.
