Name: Rebecca Ringle
Birthday: March 13, 1989
Location: Baltimore and Frederick County, Maryland
I am currently attending Garrison Forest School in Owings Mills, Maryland. I am a Junior, and transferred to Garrison this year as a boarding student. I am participating in a program entitled Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) in which I go to John’s Hopkins and work with Allison Okamura and Carol Reiley in the field of haptics. The program also includes an Honors Physics course taught by Lisa Rein, also a WISE coordinator.
Outside of school, I enjoy playing tennis, running, swimming and flyfishing. I also play the piano, and intend to learn how to play the guitar and perhaps other instruments. I am often found singing, although I have no talent whatsoever, and can relate most anything to songs. Although my page of music doesn’t include any classical artists, I have been profoundly inspired and influenced by Rachmaninov, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Ravel. School and learning are very important to me, and someday I hope to go into a field related to medicine or medical-related engineering. When I’m at home, I enjoy watching movies, cooking and spending time with my family.
