The purpose of this page is to provide links to information on places you can go to Social/Folk dance. Emphasis is on the styles of dance I've tried over the past 10 years (Swing/Ballroom/ English Country/Contra/International Folk) and there is a bias toward non-profit websites (though there are some comercial sites listed), because in my experience they are more stable, more comprehensive, and are more likely to cross-link to other useful sites. I have tried to pick a sampling of the sites I find most useful as jumping off points when searching for internet info on where to dance. If the region you are travelling to is not covered by a page linked to below, chances are that it's at most 3 handshakes away..

Rather than just producing good web starting points, there is one section where I am making some effort to be comprehensive: the section on links to dance venues in the Baltimore/Washington area.
