This is a photograph of Kumaon Hostel lit up for the 25th anniversary celebrations of 1994. Kumaon Hostel opened its gates in the same year as man first went to the moon ie 1969. It was initially meant to be the place where the delinquents of IIT D were to be housed. Some would claim that it still is.

The only Kumaon Hostel page I know of is this one maintained by Y K Swaroop. Prashant Fuloria has put up a photograph of the batch of '96.

Some of the other hostels of IIT Delhi have a presence on the web which is much more substantial than that of Kumaon which seems to run contrary to the fact, true at least in my time, that their presence on campus was much less substantial than Kumaon's. Another reason to doubt the overall credibility of the internet. Anyway ...
