Everyone goes to the movies, so a movie information service is a good application for speech and natural language processing techniques. Today, there are several movie information service systems on the web, but they are not designed for people who are not familiar with computers. Since the fastest and most convenient way to access information is to use speech and natural language. So it is our motivation to build a movie information service system that could listen and understand natural language and provide services as good as what those on the web do. We will introduce how we built this system with the help of the CHRONUS toolkit, which was first developed for the speech recognition of ATIS task.
