CS Collaboration Room and CS Undergraduate Lab

Room 225/227 is a two-section room in the New Engineering Building (NEB), and houses both the CS Collaboration room and CS Undergraduate Lab.

The CS Collaboration Room (the larger of the two rooms) is available anytime for small groups working on projects or even single users.Five large workgroup tables are available with plug-in DHCP IP access available right at the table. Table ends consist of pop-up LCD monitors/slide-out keyboard trays connected to Linux-based machines Wireless access is provided by JHU. See http://www.it.jhu.edu/networking/wireless for details.

The CS Undergraduate Lab (the smaller of the two rooms) is, also located in the Room 225/225 area, consists of several additional Linux computers and Windows computers as well..

A printer is available in the lab.

Grad Students

Shaffer 4 houses the Masters Students' Office (as well as the Graduate Lounge). The Masters' Office is split into two sections on opposite ends of Shaffer 4. The lab end has 10 Linux machines, while the Collaboration area has 6 linux machines.

PhD students are typically assigned a lab area by their advisor.

Obtaining a CS Computer Account

If you need an account, ifyou haven't picked one up from outside of NEB 226, then please download the .doc or .pdf version of our form (from http://www.cs.jhu.edu/forms) , fill it out COMPLETELY and sign the form (both sides). Please print legibly. Then bring the form to NEB 224, and allow at least 2 business days for processing (Grad students, please be sure to have someone in NEB 224 sign your account form - Undergrads, please be sure to have your instructor/advisor sign the form). To pick up your completed account form, go to NEB 226 during posted office hours.
