Soudeh Ghorbani, an assistant professor of computer science, designs and builds reliable network systems with provable guarantees, drawing techniques from formal methods, distributed systems, and control theory.

She received a BS in Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology (Iran) in 2009; a MSc in Computer Science at University of Toronto in 2011; and a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2016.

Ghorbani is a winner of the VMware Fellowship, the NSF Grant for Junior Researchers, the UIUC Feng Chen Memorial Award, and the Gottlieb Fellowship. She is also a member of the Computer Science Systems Research Group.
