The Computer Science Department is an active research department that carries on the ideal of research pioneered at Johns Hopkins, the nations first research university. The Department is home to 18 faculty members, about 74 Ph.D. students, 44 Masters students and 252 undergraduate majors. U.S. News & World Report currently lists Johns Hopkins Computer Science among the top 30 computer science departments in the country, and lists the theory group among the top 15 theory programs.
